Part of the Turks and Caicos Islands grouping under various administrations (Jamaica 1900-1959, West indies Federation 1959-62; British Crown Colony 1962 onwards), the Caicos Islands issued some stamps of their own between 1981 and 1985. It is likely that this was more to raise revenue than to improve communications.
