Gibbons [1, 2009] notes that Ajman, "the smallest of the former Trucial States … consists of the town of Ajman on the Persian Gulf and three separated areas in the interior … a total area of 300 square miles and a population of 5000." And later, "Manama is one of the enclaves of Ajman territory in the interior."

Gibbons lists the first two issues of Manama stamps amid the Appendix of wallpaper from both Ajman and Manamar. Scott [2, 2009] does not list them at all,
