† This is a complex set of overprints with four slightly different dies in use. Scott [1] starts with a perf 12 set (Sc 1-10). In Gibbons [2] this is the second set (SG73-85). Gibbons first set (SG65-85) is perf 14¼x14 and the Scott equivalent is Sc11-22.
These stamps were used in the previously German territories of Nauru and German New Guinea after Australian troops had captured them in WW1. See Guinea disambiguation.
